The Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) Code of Practice for services, public functions and associations comes into force on 5 August 2025.

We continue to emphasise that all students and staff at Durham University, including our trans, intersex, queer and non-binary community, must be treated with dignity and respect.

Led by our Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Equality, Diversity, Inclusion and Skills), we are continuing to engage with members of our staff and student community regarding the practical implications for the University and how best to implement these within the legal framework.
