Speaker: Dr Jan Mihal is Lecturer in Jurisprudence at the University of Otago, New Zealand. His research focuses on innovative methodologies in general jurisprudence and law and emerging technology. He seeks to expand the ways in which law is understood, drawing together a wide variety of traditions and ideas. One example is his forthcoming Cambridge Element in the Data Rights and Wrongs series 'Flowing with AI: Towards a New Jurisprudence' (o-authored with eminent Indigenous jurisprudent and poet Dr C.F. Black). He has held teaching and/or research positions at a wide variety of institutions, including Melbourne Law School (where he completed his PhD), National University of Singapore, James Cook University, and Monash University.
