The Centre for Sustainable Development Law and Policy (CSDLP) at Durham University provides tailored consultancy and high-impact policy briefings to support governments and policymakers in navigate complex climate and energy challenges.

What we do

  • Turn rigorous research into practical, actionable strategies
  • Design implementation frameworks and institutional solutions
  • Support policy alignment with international climate commitments

How we work

  • Targeted workshops and stakeholder engagement
  • Expert analysis to strengthen policy design
  • Improving coordination across ministries and agencies
  • Developing credible, implementable climate plans

Case study - Our recent collaboration with the Government of Uganda demonstrates this approach in action. By convening key ministries and agencies, we supported the integration of oil and gas into Uganda’s NDC 3.0, helped identify critical policy and data gaps, and developed clear, actionable recommendations for building a robust energy transition framework
